This career fork has been a long time coming. I’ve been casually writing Ruby for years, and I have always enjoyed it. And, most recently, I spent two years supporting Ruby on Rails developers who work with Solidus as a technical writer – both by contributing documentation to the open-source project and creating closed-source technical docs for Rails developers and their product people.

I’m now actively being paid to work on two Rails applications (and neither of them use Solidus). While I’m unmistakeably a junior, my previous work experience has really prepared me for a lot of the day-to-day problems I need to solve. And it helps to have already learned the Rails way of doing many things.

If you’re looking for a junior Rails developer who really cares about good documentation, please contact me.
